Auckland Equine Aqua Centre is a boutique style service, we cater for a limited number of horses at a time in order to keep a relaxed calm environment and give more one on one time with each horse. We offer first-class facilities such as big boxes, sand yards and paddocks with safe high fencing, track, round-yard and water walker.
We officially opened in April 2017 and have had great success with a wide variety of Disciplines such as rehabbing horses with injury's, pre-training racehorses, Sales prep, yearling prep, eventers, show Jumper or mid-prep freshen up for racehorses. These all require specific programs as do the different horses which we are more than happy to work with you on.
We have a good relationship with local vets and use Ivan Bridge, Neil Houston and Lacey Kamm (Vet Associates) and Paul West from (Pukekohe Waiuku Vets), have regular visits from Claire McGowen (Physio) and Luke Pertab is our qualified on-site farrier. We are also happy to work in with your usual vets and treatment providers of your horse to make sure they are in optimum health.
Luke is an extremely qualified and experienced farrier with 20 years experience under his belt.
He completed his Farriery apprenticeship in Sydney, NSW and has always been passionate about horses from an early age.
Growing up he used to visit Ellerslie Racing Stables every day and that is where it all began. He worked part-time before and after school for Frank and Merve Ritchie (The Chief) and was taught to ride by both Frank and The Chief, being lunged at the track and around the stables.
He now continues to be a farrier as well as owning and running Auckland Equine Rehab, Owning and training racehorses from Pukekohe Park and preparing yearlings for the sales.
